Our regular events are postponed until further notice. LAMchester and LAM will return when the current legislation and advice on the outbreak changes.
In the meantime, however, we are hosting a ‘virtual LAM/LAMchester’ every Sunday from 1pm on YouTube with videos from our traders, information on how to purchase from them online, and online videos of workshops – including an interactive Healthy Mental Practices workshop hosted by @TheKinkShrink via Zoom at 2pm. Check out our YouTube channel for further details. We will continue to serve our community throughout this shit storm.
Once again – LAMchester is on hold until it is safe and sensible to return – and then we will be back, on the fourth Sunday of every month, to provide the best kinky market and play event in the north of England.
And now, back to the usual blurb…
LAMchester is Manchester’s first alternative community-supporting market project, held on the fourth Sunday of every month at Revolution Bar, Deansgate Locks, Whitworth St W, Manchester M1 5LH. The market runs from 12-6pm and is followed by an after party from 7-10.30.
The next LAMchester will be as soon as we possibly can, when the coronavirus outbreak has subsided enough for us to run a public event.
LAMchester is a great place to come and find out about alternative lifestyles, and to meet and socialise with those with similar interests.
LAM events are “Kink+”, meaning that we are open to all genders and sexualities who accept kink as a positive influence on our lives. We care not what you have between your legs, who you want between your legs, or even if you have *anything* between your legs, we aim to provide an environment that is accepting and welcoming of all kinks and individuals.
There is no dress code (street wear is entirely acceptable) although fetish and kink are always encouraged.
In addition to over 20 stalls, selling the best in handmade kinky items, clothing, and accessories, we also hold three kink-related workshops every month (included in the admission fee) on such topics as consent, flogging, bondage for sex, needle and medical play, BDSM and the law, and so on. Our 3pm ‘Healthy Mental Practices’ workshop, run by kinky psychotherapist Deborah Fields, is always jam-packed, so arrive early for that one!
Anyone new to LAMchester, or to kink in general, is also encouraged to come to our 1pm induction session.
Our events are run in support of good causes within our communities and are open to anyone with an open mind and a tolerant attitude towards other peoples’ lifestyles. Come along to find out about the latest fashions, clubs, and events in and around Manchester. You will find our flyers table in the lobby of the venue, where details can be found on all manner of events and services.
Absolutely no admittance below the age of 18, and no photography by attendees is permitted (including camera phones). The official photographers are on hand to take photos for you, and any LAMchester crew member can take a photo for you using your phone.
The venue staff and event organisers reserve the right to refuse admittance if they feel you will not enjoy the event, or if you are likely to adversely affect the enjoyment of others. The safety, privacy, and comfort of our guests, stall holders, and crew is our highest priority.
LAMchester is a new event in the north, although our parent event London Alternative Market (LAM) has been running in London for fourteen years and regularly attracts upwards of 500 people every month. However we are keen that LAMchester should not be seen as ‘LAM in Manchester’, and to this end we are encouraging local traders to join us in order to better reflect the local communities. We are also looking for crew members based in the north west to help load in and out, oversee the dungeon/play areas, and generally keep an eye out to ensure that everyone is respecting the basic rules (no photography, no nudity/sex, no touching without consent, etc.). If you are a local kinky trader, or know anybody that might be interested in joining the LAMchester crew, please ask them to email Jerry or come along to an event and find one of us.
